NY Post: Merryl Tisch Will Influence Steiner To Do The Right Thing For Bloomberg

In a story on the Steiner waiver panel, the Murdoch Post reports that Merryl Tisch is in Bloomberg's pocket and will make sure Steiner does what Bloomberg wants:

One insider said that Merryl Tisch, the chancellor of the Board of Regents who has a good relationship with Bloomberg, is likely to be a key influence on Steiner.

"She put him in there," said the insider. "Believe me, she's going to have a lot to say."

Make no mistake, if Steiner ever wants to work in New York City ever again, this waiver for Black is a done deal.

It's interesting that the Murdoch Post is as open about the corruption that infects the Board of Regents as they are in this article.

By writing that Merryl Tisch "has a good relationship with Bloomberg" and is "likely to be a key influence on Steiner," they are saying quite nakedly that the system is corrupt, these people are Bloomberg's shills and they're all involved in, at the very least unethical behavior, if not out and out crookery.

  1. Isn't impunity what living in a Banana Republic/Kleptocracy is all about?

  2. Michael, if their was a value-added analysis of the criminal behavior, nepotism and corruption these people engage in, they would be getting higher grades every year.

And Bloomberg would get AAA+ on that scale.

  3. Supposedly this Tisch is some uber educated woman...but in interviews I've heard, she sounds like a cheap ladies shoe, shop keeper from the Lower East Side . . . a very pedestrian New York ethnic. As such, she's gotta nose for the gelt...ya know what I mean . . . ??? These people foam at the mouth at the sound of a few coins jingling in your pocket...
